Cloudland Canyon National Park

It was the perfect time of the year for a gypsy gathering.
So we all gathered up our belongings...

and headed out to the clouds...

Trailers and campers and gypsy caravans rode on to that place called Cloudland Canyon--straddled in a deep gorge cut into the mountain by Sitton Gulch Creek...

As we traveled in one long line, the air, slim and emerald green, carried the sweet scents of the mountain laurel and wild rhododendrons...

Picture a river jumping off some waterfalls, blue mountains in the distance and lovely wild-flower meadows.  Tucked in among the long grasses is our gypsy caravan.  Windows propped open to let a trail of wildflower scents drift into your gypsy rooms...

Daydreaming in your own warm, cozy and comfortable gypsy caravan...

...in rooms with a dash of glamour tinged with the romance of Romany life

Your books and magazines open on the caravan's bed, just where you left them last time.

Meals will be laid out across the campfire table,

...to night fireside revelries waiting...

You may try your hand at Romany cuisine, cooked at the caravan's little kitchen...

A campfire roast, or a stew bubbling in a kettle, but oh coffee is always a must in the gypsy camp...

Soul warming lattes to enjoy by the campfire too...

Her books and garden magazines to take along...

Feeling sassy feeling goofy feeling free...

Thoughts in the clouds
is what she does best! ;)

Stay a while and escape the stresses and strains of modern living with worship, music, food and good friends... so many fur friends showed up at our gathering too... big, small, all alike all so different...
You pick which one you like

Some true Romani blood there too--my friend Olanda and her precious baby Tatiana, from Romania

Little gypsy Tatiana and her Romani dad
Isn't she adorable!

Life proceeds in the slow lane, with minutes drifting into hours as the simple tasks of the day are allowed to take over. This could be playing all day long in your gypsy tent...

...but look outside and you catch the curve of the waterfalls,
the lilting horizons of the mountains,
or perhaps the course of the river...

We had such a wonderful time this weekend.
The weather was perfect not too cold not too hot with warm breezes blowing wild hair..
Lovely time spent with friends in a glorious natural atmosphere...
This is certainly the perfect time of year to go camping...
Do you love camping?

Wildflowers

I looked up and caught the flowers.
I smiled.
Sage?
Or flint?
Which name do you like better?

Gypsy heart

"My heart is a gypsy - continuously searching for a home, fighting within itself, wondering whether it is weak or even right for that matter to be searching in the first place. Loneliness is what it feels like..." (Jenna Jameson)

STANDING STONE

Days are warm and mellow and a dreamy pale amber sunlight scatters itty-bitty stars across the garden; across the privet with its November trees and November birds.

And there’s a whiff of apples and cinnamon toast hanging from the atmosphere, and mornings are bringing with them a corduroy-cold air that makes the world sing songs ablaze in crimsons, goldenrods and brown.

When evenings approaches, the sun shines pumpkin gold and there's a dreamy scent blowing magic everywhere.

The gypsy girl looks up to the sky.  She sees the signs.  She hears the songs.  Then, she considers it all.

The time of the falling leaves has come again.

The air is wild with colors and the world has turned old.
Time to make memories under the autumnal sun...

The little gypsy girl braids up her hair the gypsy way…

She dresses her self in skirts of Ashes, Oaks, and Maples and out she goes...
in search of the sun—to dream, to fly, to soar in wings of butterflies…

She’s a swirling a whirling a Mary Poppins of sorts
It’s magic, it’s magical
It’s November – spring over the ground

This is a spice shop out here…
sunshine has spread out a carpet of leaves of every name,
and the gypsy caravan is a flapping of wings under the autumnal trees.

Colorful draped fabrics, pillows, beads, and a nice heater on high…
'cause oh it was soooo cold!

Ah autumn.  A magic beyond all we do here!

Autumn in the gypsy camp

Early this morning, I decided to see what the day had for me out there...  I looked outside my window and was immediately enchanted.  There is a soft delicious harmony out there, a mystery swirling in the mellow atmosphere, a rustle in the Privet, a luster in the sky….

Our little white cottage is just starting to wake up to the new day…

It looks cozy and lovely hidden away it its foundation at the bottom of the hill...

The start of this new season provides a wonderful opportunity for you to renew… it always happen to me... I get this sense of wonder, a rush, a joyful anticipation… of what? Of something… something magical and wonderful about to happen…

One thing is always sure if nothing else is… it's a time to discover which parts of yourself you'd like to embrace and expand upon, and which parts of your summer skin you'd like to shed, and everything I see and hear and feel is telling me that it is the perfect time to find my inner gypsy.  So I look in my closet and search for as many an array of patterns and colors I could find there...

I shall be dressed in my gypsy self… I shall I should!

Then I step outside…  all jeweled up in an arrange of layers and colorful goodness…

Just how I like it!
Oh but it is too wet and too cold out here to be strolling the gardens in high heels...
So I run inside and get something more comfortable...

Fall is at the tip of my toes…

Oh how I love thee, Autumn.  You’re that same old friend of a thousand years ago when you settled all over my garden in just the same way you do it today… bringing with you your magic, spells and incantations to pour all over my little world.

Ah, you fill my days with magic and stories of strange things... you transport me to places untold which I’d never seen, and yet… how often have I been there… who draws the curtains? Who is it... that does all these things?

The world will always need a drop of magic in its vast ocean, doesn't it...  Oh yes, without it, without imagination whirling all around you, life is but an empty cup.

Don't you just love Autumn!

I do I do I do!

Collecting some precious treasures with a joyful heart…

wanting to embrace every bit of the day in your heart.

Soaking it in, to fulfill your soul…

dancing in a swirling of falling leaves,

singing with the birds with open arms…

Nature’s peace flowing into you.

Thank you for stopping by my friend, hope you go out and enjoy your day!
